Goal: To work together as a church with other believers to bring assistance to those in need and to glorify God, using various abilities, talents, time & resources where they are most effective.

We have had great cooperation & response to our initial efforts in Joplin. As a Church, we are adopting this as our "Summer Mission". We have set some guidelines to help us in organization and implementation. We hope you will join us in this effort. If you have any questions after reading this information, feel free to contact us. Brad or an approved adult can lead a group each Wed. from our facility. We will require prior notice before 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays to secure a seat going on Wed. (Additional days will be added on a by need basis.)
We will also require a waiver to be signed by each participant travelling with us to Joplin.
Participants must be 18 years old.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must stay with that parent or guardian.
Exception to this will be if a Youth Group goes with sponsors and has pre-approval.We need volunteers to clean, fuel and maintain the van/vans as necessary.
We will resume operation of our facility as collection station for funds and/or supplies, during normal office hours. Volunteers will be needed to assist the staff with these extra duties.All of our work in Joplin will be channeled through College Heights Christian Church. It is our belief that this cooperation will enhance the efficiency of our efforts both physically and spiritually.
We will have at minimum a monthly evaluation of our activities to make any adjustments that might be necessary including termination. Other changes can be made by Elder approval on a per need basis.
We are covering the expenses of our trips with donations specifically for Joplin Relief Summer Mission. Funding must keep pace with the needs of this Mission. ($50.00 trip cost per van) This is not coming from general funds needed for the day to day operations of Parkview Christian Church.
We will communicate our schedules by e-mail, facebook, and our website. If email access is not available please call the Church Office for current information. Please be flexible this is a fluid event with constant changes.We invite anyone from the Springfield area to participate with us.
If other organizations or churches have transportation, and would like to cooperate with us in our Summer Mission, we will coordinate either combined trips or alternate dates that can be published to all. This may include use of our parking lot as a staging area for other groups.We may request use of additional vans from other churches and organizations involved, as needed. Please note a small group of 5 or less may require someone’s personal vehicle to be taken to the Joplin.
